Barbara White


Barbara White, along with her husband Simon White, own VIP Transportation Group, VIP Wedding Transportation, and Wonderful Weddings & Events. Barbara, a Michigan native now living in Clermont is a 1990 graduate of Nova University. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, and worked very hard to make the Dean’s List. Before starting her own company with Simon, Barbara worked as International Sales Manager for Alamo Rent-a-Car, and Best Western International.

Barbara and Simon started their first company (VIP Transportation Group) in 2000 with one borrowed vehicle, and today have a fleet of over 30 vehicles serving the Central Florida market. Barbara serves on the board of the Central Florida Livery Association (CFLA) as treasurer, and is the treasurer of the Florida Region of the Rolls-Royce Owners' Club. In addition, is also a proud member of the Wedding Wire, The Knot, The Perfect Wedding Guide, ABC, and the Central Florida Bride.

Throughout Barbara's career, she was always involved in planning and managing events. In 2002, she decided to expand the company to include wedding transportation. VIP Wedding Transportation now offers classic cars, as well as a modern day fleet of vehicles; everything from sedans to buses for weddings. VIP Wedding Transportation has grown substantially throughout the years, and now provides transportation for over 700 plus weddings a year.

In 2015, their portfolio was expanded to include “Wonderful Weddings,” the oldest and first wedding planning company in Central Florida. After taking ownership the name was expanded to “Wonderful Weddings & Events” to drive the company forward by providing 21st century technology to capture the interest of 'millennials' and combine traditional with modern to create dream weddings. We will also target the special events market to include, birthdays, engagements, holidays, retirements, and themed parties and events.


Susie Weiss

Director of Planning

Susie founded Wonderful Weddings in 1989 after spending more than a year of research before launching the company, and brought her 12 years of event planning experience in the public broadcasting and tourism arenas. In December of 2015, Susie sold the company to the current owner’s Barbara and Simon White with the intent they both would continue to grow and expand the brand. Susie is married with two grown daughters, and currently lives in Winter Park, Florida.

“Over the past 27 years I have won awards. You will frequently see Wonderful Weddings & Events quoted in various local and national bridal publications. Aside from these, the most important thing to me as a wedding planner is the help, guidance, and stress relief that I have provided, and will continue to provide to the many clients with whom we have had the pleasure to work with. That is the substance of a remarkable wedding planner.” Susie’s day-to-day responsibilities include responding to new client inquiries, budget planning, assistance with venue and vendor selection, and detailed management of the wedding. She also serves as lead or associate coordinator for wedding day coverage.


Jennifer Sharpe

Wedding & Event Manager

Jennifer is a Floridian from the West Coast of Florida. She grew up in small city between Clearwater and St. Petersburg called Largo, and attended the University of Central Florida, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management. Once she graduated, she decided to stay in Orlando with the thriving hospitality and event industry and never left. Jennifer and her husband, are college sweethearts, and married shortly after their graduation. They have two beautiful daughters who bring joy, love and chaos to their busy lives.

Jennifer's passion has always been planning parties, ever since she was a little girl. Her family gatherings with her Italian upbringing were always 15+ guests at her grandma's house. She still continues that tradition today in her own home opening her kitchen and dining room to all her family and friends on every holiday. She loves to cook and her passion is bringing HGTV design and Food Network cooking to life!

Jennifer’s illustrious resume of 20+ years within the Orlando event industry includes 10 years of handling weddings and events at the Swan and Dolphin Hotel as well as 7 years at The Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes. Her partnerships with all the “best of” vendors and friendships with other planners, hotels and her past clients give her a proven reputation for knowledge and professionalism in the business. Once you meet her, you will feel her positive energy, sense of style, and polish. You will be rest assured your wedding or event will be a wonderful blend of tradition and modern style.


Jen Maccagnano


Jen joined the Wonderful Weddings Team in 2010 after successfully participating in our “Suddenly I See” Apprentice Program in 2009, and 2010. Jen brings energy and enthusiasm to our group, which are very important elements to a successful wedding planning company. She has recently taken over the reins as Office Manager. Jen is single, has two small children, and lives in Winter Park.

Melissa Wenhold

Associate Coordinator

Melissa came to Wonderful Weddings & Events through the path of having been a former client of ours in 2003. She graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2001 with a degree in Liberal Studies, with a focus on Communications. In addition to her responsibilities as Associate Coordinator, she owns and operates a marketing company, established in 2010. Melissa is a 2015 graduate of our “Suddenly I See” Apprentice Program.

"I had a great experience in 2003 with Wonderful Weddings & Events, when they helped me plan my wedding, including finding a fallback venue since my desired venue was not going to be ready by my wedding date. When I wished to add social event planning to the services of my marketing company, it was a natural progression to seek out some feedback from this veteran of the industry." Melissa is married, has two small children, and currently lives in Maitland."


Brian Joyce

Designer/Associate Coordinator

Brian joined the Wonderful Weddings Team in spring of 2013. Brian’s floral and décor company, Flourish Floral Productions with whom he owns with his partner Richard Streitler, serves as the design arm of Wonderful Weddings. With this strategic alliance in place, it was a natural progression for Brian to serve as a coordinator on our team.

His keen eye provides the assurance that everything is in place, and his calming personality relieves the stress for our brides. “Richard and I have done over 90 weddings with Wonderful Weddings & Events in the past nine years. During that time, we have observed their performance and notice they were clearly a shining star in the wedding planning, management, and coordination industry. It only made sense for us to add their services to our offerings at Flourish; and in turn for me to join their team as designer and coordinator.”


Galen Hentzell


Galen joined the Wonderful Weddings Team in 2016. He has spent 20 years in Retail Management, and transitioned into the transportation industry, where he has dedicated the last 7 years. He has held many roles, such as a chauffeur specializing in weddings and celebrity clientele, to various sales and marketing roles. Galen became the Wedding and Events Manager for VIP Wedding Transportation in 2015. He became a Certified Wedding Planner, because of his passion for the wedding industry. Due to his dedication and experience, he will hold a support role with Wonderful Weddings & Events.

Born in Indiana, Galen has lived in Orlando for 39 years, where he is a big part of the Orlando community. He dedicates his time volunteering with the GLBT Center of Central Florida, and is the current Chairman for the Fundraising Committee. Galen’s passion lies in assisting people, and knowing he is a part of planning the perfect transportation for their special day.
